A Long Legacy of Giving Back

Since its founding in 1962, Black Knight and its predecessor companies have been focused on serving our communities and lending our support to those who need it most. Black Knight is a strong community partner with a commitment to support a wide range of initiatives that leave a positive imprint on where we live and work.

Black Knight is a leading provider of software, data and analytics solutions to the mortgage and consumer loan, real estate and capital markets verticals.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continued to challenge our employees, clients and communities in 2021, Black Knight stepped up to help those in need. In 2021, the company pledged more than $660,000 to 64 charitable organizations. To supplement this financial support, employee volunteers donated hundreds of hours of their time to non-profits and charitable organizations nationwide.

Black Knight Cares, our company’s charitable giving program, supports organizations that align with our vision of giving and community support. When considering where we can help, we focus on these primary areas:

Powering Up Healthy Communities

Black Knight supports community initiatives that encourage active lifestyles, health research and education.

In 2021, we helped support 17 different health-related organizations, including those dedicated to the treatment and eradication of heart disease; the acceleration of global research and maximizing quality care for Alzheimer’s patients; and ending cancer, among several other initiatives. As the pandemic allowed, many Black Knight employees volunteered their time to these organizations, while others served on their boards to offer additional guidance and support.

One of the organizations we were honored to support was The DONNA Foundation, whose mission is to provide financial assistance and support to those living with breast cancer—and to fund groundbreaking breast cancer research. The organization hosts numerous events and fundraisers throughout the year, including the 14th annual DONNA Marathon Weekend, culminating in The National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer. Black Knight was pleased to contribute $25,000 to the foundation’s efforts, and employee volunteers participated in several DONNA running events throughout the year.

Powering Up Our Military and Veterans

Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to active-duty service members, veterans and military families for their tireless dedication to protecting our rights and freedoms. Black Knight has a long history of hiring veterans and remains committed to both those who served and their families. We have been recognized by the U.S. Department of Defense through its Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) status and support of its Military Spouse Employment Partnership.

We are equally proud to support our employees who bravely serve in our nation’s Reserves and National Guard. After one year of employment, Black Knight offers paid military leave for the first six months of service for those who are called to active duty. These employees and their families also enjoy continued health benefits, and when the employee returns from deployment, they retain their position or the position they would have acquired had they been continuously employed.

Throughout 2021, Black Knight has supported a variety of organizations that make a positive impact on the lives of our military and their families. We partnered with several Jacksonville-area organizations offering education, job training and increasing access to mental health services for military families in need.

One of those organizations, Operation New Uniform, helps veterans and their families develop skills to grow into new professional opportunities, and help them launch new careers. In addition to charitable donations and other support for Operation New Uniform, Black Knight sponsored and attended its 8th Annual Heroes Gala, benefiting the nation’s veterans during their time of transition after service. We also supported K9s for Warriors, which trains and provides service canines to warriors coping with post-traumatic stress disorder or other related trauma. We sponsored the organization’s annual Christmas Tree fundraiser, where organizations compete for decorating the most creative holiday trees.

Black Knight is a proud corporate sponsor of The Folded Flag Foundation. By helping to cover administrative costs, The Folded Flag Foundation can focus donations toward providing scholarships and educational support grants to the spouses and children of military and government personnel who died in service to our country.

Powering Up the Next Generation

Black Knight supports various organizations dedicated to the protection, education and development of our nation’s youth to help them thrive and shape the future.

In 2021, we donated over $90,000 to programs and events designed for childhood and teen development in our headquarters city of Jacksonville, Fla., and nationwide. Our many contributions included a grant of $15,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida and its Beyond School Walls program, which matches young people from local schools with employees to explore career opportunities, develop professional skills, and interact with classmates in a real-world office setting throughout the school year.

Black Knight also offers a summer internship program to help college students build real-world skills and training. The best and brightest students from universities and colleges across the U.S. are invited to intern at Black Knight to learn about our company’s solutions, help with projects, make presentations and build skills for future success. A number of our former interns now have full-time careers at Black Knight.

Powering Up Living Conditions for Those in Need

Now more than ever, communities across the country are relying on our support to get their basic needs met. Knights are committed to improving the living conditions of those in low-income circumstances and finding solutions that can help them thrive. From food and housing to other needs in between, Black Knight employees work together with recognized charity and non-profit organizations to make a difference, while also finding unique ways they can go the extra mile in supporting their community.

Food insecurity continues to be a challenge for countless families throughout Florida. Black Knight proudly supports Farm Share, a non-profit food bank that recovers and distributes fresh food to those in need to help alleviate hunger. In addition to contributing financially, many Black Knight team members participated in Farm Share’s annual Thanksgiving food distribution, which provided fresh produce to 2,080 households.

Once again, Black Knight’s annual giving initiative to the United Way inspired our Knights to give big. The organization — which fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in communities across the nation – inspired the company to raise a total of $231,580 to help make change, provide support, and give those in need a firm foundation from which to rebuild and thrive.

By supporting United Way’s efforts, we are changing lives – and saving lives. We are helping to solve our community’s toughest challenges by creating a wealth of opportunity where everyone has hope and can reach their full potential.

In 2021, Black Knight continued to support Spare Key, a nonprofit that provides housing assistance to Minnesota families with critically ill or seriously injured children. In lieu of client holiday gifts, Black Knight made generous donations to Spare Key and the MBA Opens Doors Foundation, which provides mortgage and rental payment assistance grants to parents and guardians caring for a critically ill or injured child. This allows them to take unpaid leave from work and spend precious time together without jeopardizing their cherished homes.

In addition, when Black Knight needed furniture for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Annual conference, instead of renting from a high-cost vendor, we purchased new chairs, a coffee table and barstools from Wayfair, then donated the furniture to families in need at the end of the conference.

Powering Up a Diverse and Inclusive Community

By creating a safe, diverse and inclusive workspace for our employees, Black Knight remains committed to supporting people from all walks of life no matter their gender, race, sexuality, or religion. We further that commitment by supporting like-minded efforts in our outlying community.

For the second year in a row, Knights didn’t let a remote work environment stop them from celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month in October. Our employees connected virtually via video chat to commemorate the monthlong event. Black Knight also sponsored two events hosted by Jacksonville-based non-profit JASMYN, which provides services to LGBTQ+ young people ages 13-23. In April 2021, we sponsored the group’s 10th annual “Strides for Pride” 5k run. We also sponsored JASMYN’s annual Coming-Out Breakfast in October, which honors the work of individual leaders, employee resource groups, corporations and non-profit partners while focusing support for LGBTQ+ youth.

Black Knight CEO Anthony Jabbour is also a member of CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, the largest CEO-driven business commitment for advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In 2021, Rich Baker, a member of Black Knight’s Human Resources team, was awarded the Florida LGBTQ+ Leadership Award by the National Diversity Council for leading initiatives that support diversity and inclusion.

Our Diversity & Inclusion Roundtable offers numerous opportunities for employees to learn about and share their unique personal backgrounds to help promote a business culture representative of the unique values, opinions, cultures, abilities and needs of our employees, customers and community.
